Install Alshitask

Download, open, make a board. Local work needs no portal account, cloud database, or Docker installation.

Windows

  1. Open the latest release.
  2. Download alshitasks_<version>_x64_setup.exe and run it.
  3. Launch Alshival.Ai from Start.

The installer supports Windows 10/11 x64, installs for the current user, and includes Python and its dependencies. Local data lives in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Alshival.Ai. Upgrades and uninstall preserve that data.

Closing the window leaves the app in the notification area and its background service running. Use Settings to manage startup, restart, or stop the service. SSH features require Windows OpenSSH Client.

Ubuntu

Download the amd64 .deb from the latest release. From the download directory, install that exact file, replacing <version> with the downloaded version:

sudo apt install ./alshitasks_<version>_amd64.deb

Launch Alshival.Ai from the application menu. The supported desktop target is Ubuntu 26.04 amd64. A working, unlocked Secret Service stores integration credentials.

With an AppIndicator tray host, closing hides the window and background sync continues. Without one, closing exits the desktop window normally. Settings includes optional start-at-login behavior and service controls. User data remains separate for each Linux account.

macOS and other devices

There is no published macOS installer. Use the portal for hosted workspaces, or access an instance of the browser/server preview from your browser. The .deb package is not a macOS installer.

Your first five minutes

Open the local workspace, pick a colorful icon, and follow Your first board. You can work locally without signing in. Connect and sync is an optional next step for team collaboration.

Keep your work safe

Export a backup from Settings before an upgrade or a move to another machine. Backups include workspace records, managed attachments, and logs; integration credentials are separate. Stop the service before using the CLI restore command. Restore checks the archive and retains the previous files for recovery; restored connections require setup again.

Use troubleshooting if the app or an integration needs attention. Administrative portal tools stay in Alshival.Ai; the standalone app provides the same public-facing workspace experience for everyone.
